Hi Everyone,Hope you all enjoyed "Christmas" day.Me!!!! both of my hands swelled that much i could not even wipe my own tears away.I phone the hospital as soon as i could they told me to get up there to see them that day.I was well looked after.The hospital phone me two days later asking how i was.So so kind to me i could not wish for a better service so very understanding.Yes!! i have got my hands back not 100 per.cent.Well i do take 20 mg mtx enbrel injection sulph. 20 mg steroids a day.So now they are going to change my enbrel inj.for something else.I am hoping 2013 is a better year for me.Valerie-R

Oh Valerie, not a good time for a flare, not that any time is good!
Glad you are feeling a bit better now, and hopefully get the meds sorted soon.
Its good to hear your phone call was treated so kindly, it makes such a difference just to be listened to with feeling and understanding,

Hi Valerie - such a shame to get a flare over Christmas - hopefully they're feeling a bit easier now. Have you tried running them under the cool tap (not freezing, but just cool)? I found that it eased them enough to be able to flex and move the joints and then some of the stiffness eased a bit. We take our hands for granted but they do need lots of special tlc with RA.
